WEEKLY UPDATE - JULY 4

Welcome back to the weekly wrap up - hope you had a lovely long weekend! Last week was light on public #yegcc meetings.

Public Hearing was on Monday and it included the approval of a new high density residential development in Boyle Street next to Stadium station. I’m so excited to see additions to the great community that’s emerging at Stadium Yards and welcoming more people to O-day’min!

My colleague, Erin Rutherford, also made a notice of motion that we’ll be debating this week that asks for how the Public Spaces Bylaw can be used to ensure our public areas are safe and inclusive for all. This is a great initiative and well timed as we wrap up Pride Month🏳️‍🌈

On Tuesday, we had the first meeting of the City Auditor Recruitment Committee. The City Auditor is one of two employees Council hires directly and I look forward to being part of this selection process moving forward!

We are sitting 9:30am-9pm today and tomorrow at Council to get through a heavy agenda - stay tuned for lots of updates next week!
