WEEKLY UPDATE - JULY 2

Welcome back to the Weekly Wrap Up! Last week included a Utility Committee and District Planning Public Hearing.

At Utility, we discussed EPCOR’s rate filings. This includes the costs that customers in Edmonton will pay for water distribution, wastewater treatment, and stormwater services. The good news is that the rates are proposed at below inflation for the next 3 years. Rate filing is an important - but complicated! - process. EPCOR has a helpful reader’s guide that walks through the changes, the process of rate filing, and opportunities to provide input. You can submit questions and comments on the rate filing by July 22nd and have a chance to speak at the Public Hearing in October, with more details at www.epcor.com/PBR. Be sure to take a look and get involved!

We also wrapped up the District Planning Public Hearing. We approved the overall District Policy and 14 out of 15 plans, and repealed older existing plans. Thank you to all the City staff who helped navigate this significant process! The district planning framework is the next step in realising the City Plan vision, and represents hours of work and input from countless Edmontonians. Thank you to the over 100 speakers who came out to share their perspectives and many more who contributed along the way.

That’s all for this week! Hope you have a great four day week!
