Weekly Update - Jan 23

City Council returned from recess last week, so here’s my Weekly Wrap Up.

Community and Public Services Committee included a great presentation around a new tool the City has developed to track hate symbols appearing in #yeg. The Lighthouse database is an innovative way to help us build a more inclusive Edmonton for everyone.

Urban Planning saw District Planning come to Committee. I was pleased to speak in support of a motion by Ashley Salvador that will help make the transformational changes outlined in these plans even clearer for communities. A huge thank you to everyone who spoke!

At Executive Committee, I moved a motion requesting Homeward Trust to share the lessons learned through the implementation of #yeg's Plan to End Homelessness. I look forward to understanding how we can make the most of our resources and continue collaborating across the sector.

Have a great week and don't forget to check out Chinatown Dining Week, going live this Thursdsay January 26th! Hope to see you at one of the many great participating restaurants.
