WEEKLY UPDATE - NOV 19
Welcome back to the Weekly Wrap Up! Last week was hectic one due to a family emergency at home, and a number of important conversations at City Council.
There were no rezonings in O-day’min at Public Hearing but we did approve a rezoning to support the preservation of the historic Griesbach Physical Training Building. I’m glad we kept this piece of Edmonton’s history and look forward to seeing new uses bring the space to life.
We also passed a number of small amendments to the Zoning Bylaw to improve how it’s working. These small tweaks help to respond to emerging issues and allow us to continue to evaluate the outcomes of the regulations.
At City Council, Administration presented the 2024 Fall Budget. We asked a number of clarifying questions, and we’ll be getting into the debate of possible amendments early in December. My focus for the budget is finding a balance between the short term affordability pressures Edmontonians are facing, and the long term financial health of our city. To help me do that, please take my Budget Survey if you haven’t already! annestevenson.ca/survey
That’s all for this week’s update! As Council is on recess this week, there won’t be an update next week, so see you next in December!
